Saint Leo Abbey is not a parish and is part of a 1,500-year-old Benedictine Tradition. That means we do things differently than what most Catholics might consider unusual or uncommon. During mass, we do not kneel because it is reserved for times of penance and we stand when we praise and worship the Lord. Another noticeable characteristic is the pace at which we chant and speak in all of our liturgies. We aim to pray slowly and deliberately so we may be of one voice and one body as we worship.
