As a member house of the American-Cassinese Congregation, we are communally under the patronage of the Holy Guardian Angels. We honor their patronage, show gratitude, and ask for their intercession today in a special way with a solemn mass.
The Rule of Saint Benedict reminds us of the role and importance of our Guardian Angel when he writes,
"While he guards himself at every moment from sins and vices of thought or tongue, of hand or foot, of self-will or bodily desire, let him recall that he is always seen by God in heaven, that his actions everywhere are in God's sight and are reported by angels at every hour." RB 7:12
Their presence edifies us to be interiorly vigilant so that we may grow in virtue and humility.
