As
its opening in 1890, the institution was called "St.
Leo's College," but then changed its name to "Saint
Leo's Military College" in the course of the first
year. By 1903 the school took the name of "Saint Leo
College", which was kept until 1917. From this year,
the name changed 5 more times before settling on the tittle
that it would keep for the following third of a century:
