Invitation from Abbot Isaac:
To the Beloved Friends and Family of Saint Leo Abbey,
It is with great pride that I announce the up coming celebration of our 120th year of serving Gods people in the hills of Saint Leo.
On June 13th we will celebrate a Mass to thank God for his many blessings throughout these years and at the same time ask Him, to keep on blessing us with growth in holiness of life and vocations to our community.
My predecessors Fr. Simeon Thole, O.S.B; Fr. James Tingerthal, O.S.B. and Fr. Robert Veleten, O.S.B., administrators of the Abbey, asked you for your help to renovate our Church, or equally importantly your Church. I am fortunate enough to finally accomplish this work; we are expecting to have the inside of the church completed in time for our June 13th celebration. Through your generosity and help, we have painted and redecorated our Abbeys Church. We truly hope you will be able to join us for this celebration or one of our other events going on throughout this momentous year to see for yourself how your gifts, whether you supported through donations or you gave to us through volunteering your time, have helped restore this historic and treasured Church. We are eternally grateful!
As we, the monastic community, gather in church, we have a renewed feeling seating here worshiping God in such a blessed and beautiful place. We are sure you will feel it too!
For more than 75 years this church has been a silent witness of the many people who have come to pray with the monks and to participate in the Eucharistic services. To all of you I thank you for making Saint Leo Abbey a place where not only the monks of Saint Leo Abbey but all of Gods people, our neighbors from far and near, our fellow monks and priests and yes, tourists too, have come to discover peace on this holy hill.
Here you will see some pictures of the before, during and after work done in our Church. Obviously, I will not show you the final look, you will have to come and see it for yourself.
I look forward to seeing you on June 13th at 10:30 am to celebrate, with us our 120th year on the Hill.

The base coat is almost finished, just the very top is still bare...
