St. Leo Benedictine Abbey, St. Leo Florida
Prior Clement, OSB was ordained to the Diaconate on May 29, 2015. We are confident that his love of monastic life will set an example for others to follow. Bishop Robert Lynch of the Diocese of St Petersburg presided over the ordination with Abbot Isaac as the honorary con-celebrant and direct superior to Prior Clement. While a man of few words, he has a solid determination to assist our Abbot in leading this community of St Leo Abbey to continue the Benedictine mission of searching for God in this 21st Century.

On July 11, 2015 at 10:00am, Brothers Apollo and Benjamin will be taking their simple vows. Benjamin grew up in Mississippi in the Baptist church. With his love of scripture he planned to become a minister, but converted to the Catholic faith. After much discernment Benjamin joined the community. Apollo grew up in Florida and worked heavily with the Saint Leo Peer Ministers as part of our retreat center. His vocational discernment led him to the seminary, but instead felt the monastic life better suited his personality.

It is you who makes God either far or near. Love and he will come close. Love and he will dwell in you. (Ser 21:2)
